Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS)
Stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) is a non-surgical radiation therapy used to treat functional abnormalities and small tumors of the brain. It can deliver precisely-targeted radiation in fewer high-dose treatments than traditional therapy, which can help preserve healthy tissue.
The pancreas secretes enzymes that aid digestion and hormones that help regulate the metabolism of sugars. This type of cancer is often detected late, spreads rapidly and has a poor prognosis. There are no symptoms in the early stages. Later stages are associated with symptoms, but these can be non-specific, such as lack of appetite and weight loss. Treatment may include surgically removing the pancreas, radiation and chemotherapy.
Radiation therapy or radiotherapy, often abbreviated RT, RTx, or XRT, is therapy using ionizing radiation, generally as part of cancer treatment to control or kill malignant cells and normally delivered by a linear accelerator.

DR. HANAH LAMALLEM
She studied medicine at the Paris-Descartes Faculty of Medicine (UFR NECKER) and embarked on her internship in the Paris hospitals in 2001. During her internship she specialized in medical oncology (at the Paul Brousse, the Institut Gustave Roussy and Cochin Hospitals), in radiotherapy (at the Institut Gustave Roussy, Pitié-Salpétrière and Georges Pompidou European Hospitals) and finally, completed her training, with a course on medical imagery and nuclear medicine, at the Centre René Huguenin. From 2006 to 2008, she was Chef de Clinique Assistante (Assistant Senior Lecturer) in the radiotherapy department at the Hôpital Européen Georges Pompidou as well as at the Paris René Descartes University. During this period she studied the technique of intensity modulation and stereotaxic radiotherapy. She also followed a course on onco-geriatrics. Dr. Lamallem has an M.Sc. in immunology and onco-genesis. After a year doing fundamental research into cellular biology at the prestigious University of Yale, U.S.A., she obtained a Master degree. Dr. Lamallem has given lectures to medical students on Digestive Oncology (Cochin, Pr. Dousset), Gynecological Oncology (HEGP, Pr. Lecuru), Additional Care (HEGP, Pr. Oudard), and to Electro-technicians during their course at the Pitié-Salpétrière Hospital. She is a member of the editorial staff of the France Cancer journal.
